FARMALOGIC GRAZAID

Farmalogic Grazaid is a palatable blend of inactivated yeast components, mineral clays, salt, magnesium and live yeast probiotics.

Mineral imbalance in pastures and mycotoxin contaminants in stockfeeds are two of the main factors likely to contribute to “grass affected” behaviour in horses. Without laboratory testing, it is not easy for an owner to identify the cause. Grazaid brings together ingredients to assist with two of the most common causes.

The problem is more often noticed during spring and autumn when pastures may become stressed due to frost, drought or herbicides. High risk grass is lush, stressed or growing rapidly, and can be high in sugars, nitrates and potassium.

Is this going to take the ping out of spring? Grazaid is designed to assist horses showing behavioural changes or symptoms of mycotoxin ingestion from stockfeeds including:

  • Head flicking

  • Unpredictable or naughty behaviour

  • Photosensitivity

  • Greasy heel

  • Uncharacteristic spookiness

  • Muscle tightness

  • Ill-thriftiness.

Grazing High Risk Grass:

Horses: 1 to 1.5 scoops twice daily Ponies: 1/2 to 1 scoop twice daily.

Always ensure horses have access to fresh, clean water and a source of free choice loose plain salt rather than a lick block. Reduce levels of high protein hard feeds during episodes of grass-affected behaviour. In some cases, removing horses from pasture and providing free choice grass/meadow hay may be necessary until reactive behaviour abates. Reintroduce pasture for short periods of time until behaviour is normal when grazing all day. This product contains magnesium. Do not feed with concentrated magnesium supplements except on nutritionist’s advice. Can be fed in conjunction with multi-vitamin and mineral supplements such as Equine Vit&Min. Can be fed with mineral-fortified bagged feeds.

Farmalogic Grazaid does not contain substances prohibited by the rules of racing and FEI competitions.

Horses and Owners Love Grazaid

26-2.png

Machelle Flanigan from Chinchilla QLD has noticed a terrible pattern with every horse she brings home despite feeding sensible, well balanced diets. She says, “Every horse I buy is quiet when I purchase and within six weeks their behaviour becomes extremely flighty, trembling when they come into the yards looking for the boogie man and get extremely bad sunburn on their noses. It’s worst in summer, but they’re still unpredictable in winter. I’ve had good horses that I’ve sold because they were nutty here, and within a month the new owners report how quiet and dopey the horse is - this has happened consistently!”

Machelle started her paint filly, Marlie, on Grazaid on 30th May. “She was not having a good day today, taking flight four times at the simplest noises like the tinkling of her neck rug clips,” she said. “Her nose is also getting burnt again and she was very itchy today.”

On 4th June Machelle reported that Marlie was definitely calmer and her gut shape is changing, looking less tucked up and the muscles more relaxed. By 11th June Machelle said, “I can’t believe how shiny she is becoming!”

Machelle’s update on the 29th June was that Marlie was doing brilliantly. “It took a while but she is wonderful now, and acting like a typical two year old, not a crazy thing,” a delighted Machelle reported.
